Chatuchak Market

Every weekend in Bangkok, the Chatuchak Market is open. It's 35 acres of shopping stalls and they sell everything from pets to antiques. So obviously, this is the only thing we did on Saturday! Conveniently located on the sky train route, we stepped off into the masses for a day of maze wandering and bargaining.

We came away with a few purchases of clothes and capes ( more on this later) and full bellies.

Later that night, Julian's dad, Keith, arrived in Bangkok for work, so we met up with him to show off our sweet digs and to have dinner. I am now realizing that I haven't really said anything about out hotel except that is has an awesome breakfast buffet...

The Peninsula Hotel Bangkok is located right along the Chao Phraya River. We have a room with a balcony. This is what we wake up to every morning

Everything in the room is controlled electronically, from the lights to the curtains and the do not disturb sign.

The hotel provides transportation across the river to the pier to catch the Chao Phraya Express and to the sky train station.

They also have a number of great restaurants here, including the Mei Jiang Restaurant which serves traditional Chinese cuisine. This is where we ate last night with Julian's dad. It was very good!

  1. I'm with the IPad--- I think Puerto Vallarta sounds pretty great right now---with cool, dreary, rainy day going on here in Houston--- Just having fond memories of last Saturday night dancing in the moonlight on Las Caletas ! Love to you both !
